Small Town Disappears
The small town of Americus, Georgia had the strangest thing happen today, everyone dropped dead at once. The CDC is investigating and FEMA agencies are enroute with aid along with many other agencies of the federal government to assist the surrounding communities with their grief and shock. This silent killer affected each in a manner that was stealthy and deadly. They unfortunate residents reflect the national census data in diversity by percentage almost to the number. Preliminary investigation results indicate each person in this small town shared at least one thing in common, they had no health insurance.
Imagine if the above headline were to actually occur. The world would descend upon our nation to offer help and prayers. Ships would be dispatched with aid of all types and our government would make an effort to resolve this mystery. Public outcry would go up from every corner of the nation of how we could let this tragedy just happen. How could we just let our fellow citizens die? We the people do allow this tragedy to occur to men, women and children each year. 18,000 people die from a simple cause that is afflicting millions of Americans, they are uninsured. The cure exists and we deliver it to select groups of our society each day. Medicare and medicaid are helping keep millions of Americans in health. Our will to make this available to all Americans must change the law. HR676 “Expanded Medicare Bill” is a good start toward universal one billing source health care.
Media attention does not exist for this bill in any major media though 93 representatives have signed on as sponsors. We are challenged to do our part today for those 18,000 Americans that die each year. Call your representative and make a difference! Tell your congressional representative to sponsor and quickly move this HR676 forward. People are silently waiting, ashamed of their poverty, and dying to have this issue addressed. Get behind something that can be a shift in the course of our nations history!
Get behind the wheel of change and turn toward a new future that is inclusive, fair to all, and cares for the weakest among us without prejudice. Being poor should not be a barrier to health in this nation. Being ill should not bring a looming fear of becoming bankrupt. Being uninsured should be a memory of a time gone by, back when we did not know any better. Save the masses from being bankrupt, ill, scared, and make our nation truly free to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. I have read about that somewhere before, let’s make this happen.
Go to www.hr676.org and lend your voice, time, and efforts to make uninsured a thing that is of the past!
