Saints Super Bowl Win
Congratulations to all fellow Saints fans on the Super Bowl Win over the Colts. I have waited 43 seasons for this and went to the second ever Saints game in 67. I also went through Katrina and remember how the Saints were the only escape many had. I also salute Drew Brees in his post game news conference where he stated that this win was for New Orleans and the whole gulf region. His class and awareness was refreshing and his class undeniable.
Supreme Court sells out America
The recent decision to allow corporate money to be unlimited and more direct is one of the worse decisions in the history of the court. It opens the door to full blown fascism as Mussolini defined it and as President Obama stated in the State of the Union, will allow foreign corporations to be able to influence our elections. Alito seemed to indicate he disagreed but was unavailable to explain how he disagreed. Alito is obviously a fascist leaning judge if not a full blown fascist. He and Roberts should be held accountable and be forced to expose why they allowed such a hideous decision to be made. Good for Obama for bringing it out.
Ted Kennedy
Today as we pay our tributes to Ted Kennedy and his passing, I would like to recall the influence this man had on my life. He rose above political positions and fought for those who offered little or no support for his political career. He saw his brothers Jack and Bobby murdered and his older brother Joe die while serving his nation. Ted could have done it the easy way, but he refused as he fought for the little guy.
I heard his words about his brother Robert and 8 words he said stuck with me and remain a key to my doing the things I do. Those words: “He saw wrong and tried to right it”. The same time he called for people to work to make good things happen and spoke of love and understanding.
He will be missed.
